How does BabyGoods work?

BabyGoods works in three simple steps:

Browse and Connect: Buyers browse listings and connect with sellers through our platform.
Negotiate and Arrange: Buyers can make offers, negotiate prices, and arrange viewings directly with sellers.
Meet and Complete: Buyers and sellers meet in person to inspect the item and complete the transaction.

Is BabyGoods available throughout Kenya?

Yes, BabyGoods is available throughout Kenya. However, since transactions are completed in person, most activity is concentrated in major urban areas like Nairobi, Mombasa, and Kisumu. You can filter listings by location to find items near you.

Does BabyGoods have a mobile app?

Currently, BabyGoods is available as a mobile-responsive website that works well on all devices. We're working on dedicated iOS and Android apps that will be available soon. Sign up for our newsletter to be notified when they launch.

How do I create a buyer account?

Creating a buyer account is easy! Click the "Sign Up" button in the top right corner of our website, enter your email address and phone number, create a password, and verify your account. Once verified, you can start browsing and contacting sellers immediately.

How do I make an offer on an item?

To make an offer, navigate to the item listing and click the "Make an Offer" button. Enter your proposed price and any message for the seller, then submit. The seller will be notified and can accept, decline, or counter your offer.

How do payments work?

BabyGoods does not process payments. Transactions are completed in person between buyers and sellers. We recommend using cash or mobile money transfer services like M-Pesa when you meet to complete the transaction. Always verify that the item matches the description before making payment.

What if the item isn't as described?

We encourage buyers to thoroughly inspect items before completing the purchase. If you notice discrepancies between the listing and the actual item during viewing, you can decline to purchase. This is why we strongly recommend viewing items in person before finalizing transactions.

How do I create a seller account?

To become a seller, first create a regular BabyGoods account, then navigate to your profile settings and click "Become a Seller." You'll need to provide additional verification information, including a valid ID and proof of address. Once verified, you can start creating listings.

How much does it cost to sell on BabyGoods?

Currently, it's completely free to list and sell items on BabyGoods. We don't charge listing fees or commissions on sales. You keep 100% of what you earn. We may introduce premium features in the future, but basic listing will remain free.

What items can I sell on BabyGoods?

You can sell a wide range of gently used baby and children's items, including:

Clothing and shoes
Toys and books
Strollers and car seats (with safety restrictions)
Cribs and furniture
Feeding equipment
Maternity items
